The Astra Mini Pro series 3D cameras are offered as bare modules for ease of integration into embedded applications. Astra Mini Pro series are based on structured light technology with Orbbec’s custom ASIC for high quality depth processing andsingle cable USB 2.0 power + connectivity. The Astra Mini S Pro (short range) and Astra Mini Pro (long range) versions provide developers with the freedom to finetune their needs best suited for operating requirements.
With Orbbec SDK, Astra Mini Pro series cameras are easy to setup and deliver highly accurate and reliable data for in-door operation.

The Astra Mini Pro Series 3D cameras are offered as bare modules to make them easy to integrate into embedded applications. They are based on structured light technology with Orbbec’s custom ASIC for high-quality depth processing and single-cable USB 2.0 power and connectivity. The series includes two versions, the Astra Mini S Pro (short range) and the Astra Mini Pro (long range), giving developers the freedom to choose the option best suited to their operating requirements.
The two versions differ mainly in depth range. The Astra Mini Pro (long range) covers 0.6 to 5m, while the Astra Mini S Pro (short range) covers 0.4 to 2m. Both share the same structured light technology, 640×480 depth and RGB resolution at up to 30fps, and bare-module form factor, so you can pick the range that fits your application.
The Astra Mini Pro Series delivers a depth precision of 0.3% or better at 1m. It has a depth field of view of 58.4 degrees horizontal by 45.5 degrees vertical and an RGB field of view of 62.7 degrees horizontal by 49 degrees vertical, using an 850nm wavelength and Orbbec’s custom ASIC for depth processing.
The Astra Mini Pro Series uses a single USB 2.0 Type-A connection for both data and power, with average power consumption under 2.4W. Each module is very compact at 84.9 x 20 x 19.92mm and weighs only 35g, which makes it well suited to integration into embedded devices. It outputs point cloud, depth map, and IR or RGB data.
The Astra Mini Pro Series is supported by the Orbbec SDK, OpenNI SDK, making it straightforward to set up and integrate. It is designed for indoor operation, with an operating range of 10 to 40 degrees Celsius and 5% to 95% relative humidity.
The Astra Mini Pro Series is used for people counting and engagement, to track and count people and monitor foot traffic and occupancy; for bin picking, to help robotic arms detect and locate objects in a bin or on a moving belt with high precision; and as a cobot sensor, enabling collaborative robots to respond to human commands and gestures and interact safely.
No. As a compact bare module, the Astra Mini Pro Series does not include an IMU or a hardware trigger. It is optimized for lightweight, low-power embedded integration where a small footprint and a simple USB 2.0 connection matter most. If your project needs an IMU or triggering, another Orbbec camera such as the Astra 2 may be a better fit.
