“We understand that rapid decision-making requires total confidence in your technology stack” said Karthick Kandasamy, EMEA Sales and Operations Director at Orbbec.“That’s why we provide 3D vision solutions designed for immediate impact and long-term scalability. With a global footprint of 3,000+ customers, we’re here to help you deploy the same proven, cost-effective automation that is driving the industry forward today.”
Proving Reliable 3D Vision on Logistics Corner Cases
Rather than presenting isolated laboratory demos, Orbbec’s exhibit focuses on corner cases that frequently cause perception failures in warehouses—low-texture surfaces, tight near-field sensing, or multi-camera deployments with limited compute resources.
These demonstrations illustrate how Orbbec’s chip and optics technology translates into measurable, operational advantages.
- Forklift Perception for Pallet Handling: Fork arm guidance, pallet recognition, and bin identification using the Gemini 435Le on a simulated warehouse setup with metallic forks and wooden pallets. The 435Le achieves ±1% depth accuracy at 2 m and spatial relative accuracy <0.4% at 2 m, across a 90°×65° FOV.

- Precision in Low-Texture Scenarios: Traditional passive stereo cameras often “go blind” when facing white walls or featureless bins. Powered by NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin™, the Gemini 435Le utilizes active structured light to deliver stable point clouds on low-texture surfaces, ensuring navigation uptime in sterile or monochrome warehouse environments — while a passive stereo alternative, demonstrated side by side at the same settings, show visible point cloud jitter and edge distortion on identical surfaces.

- Near-Field Reliability: For tight-quarter navigation, the Gemini 336 maintains usable, continuous depth data at a minimum working distance of just 13 cm. This enables AMRs to navigate narrow aisles with centimeter-level clearance — while a widely deployed market alternative, placed side by side at the same distance, returns no valid depth data at 13 cm.

- Chip-Level Compute Efficiency: Demonstrating high-density perception, eight Gemini 335Lg cameras are synchronized via GMSL2 on the Advantech AFE-R750 platform. By offloading depth processing to Orbbec’s proprietary ASIC, the system processes 16 simultaneous data streams while reducing host CPU/GPU load, allowing more compute power for high-level AI tasks.

- Millimeter Level DWS Accuracy: Targeted at Dimensioning, Weighing, and Sorting (DWS), this Orbbec’s Femto Bolt ToF camera demonstrates how it improves high-throughput parcel sorting where accuracy directly impacts billing and logistics flow.

Proven Deployments Across Europe
Orbbec systems are already operating in production across Europe and North America. In Ghent, Belgium, Captic uses Orbbec‘s Femto Mega ToF camera in its AIR DEPAL system for mixed-pallet depalletizing across logistics, food, and building materials operations.

In logistics operations, Cargo Spectre deploys Orbbec depth sensors for automated volumetric dimensioning, replacing manual measurement with camera-based DWS workflows that improve billing accuracy, increase throughput, and deliver measurable payback.

AI Ecosystem and Industrial Deployment
Orbbec’s cameras are integrated with the industry’s leading AI and edge computing platforms, including NVIDIA Jetson Thor and Advantech. This “plug-and-play” compatibility allows customers and developers to deploy Orbbec sensors into existing robotic stacks with minimal integration friction.

In the AI domain, Orbbec is also collaborating with Robbyant, an embodied AI company within Ant Group, on LingBot Depth, a spatial-perception AI model designed to improve machine understanding of complex physical environments by combining depth sensing with large-scale AI models.
Beyond standard products, Orbbec also delivers flexible contract manufacturing services to robotics customers worldwide. Backed by dual manufacturing hubs in China and Vietnam, the company supports scalable production, NPI execution, and DFM optimization for long-term industrial programs.
