The Infrastructure Problem Hidden in Plain Sight
Picture shoppers and employees clutching stacks of hangers, waiting their turn for a fitting room… Trying on, taking off, comparing repeatedly. In corporate uniform distribution, this inefficiency multiplies: manual measuring, handwritten records, endless try-ons, and returns. For programs managing thousands of employees, it’s a logistics crisis demanding infrastructure-level solutions.
The Solution: Precision Depth Data Meets AI
Brussels-based Treedys, the company behind SIZED, built the platform to eliminate manual sizing and outdated measuring tapes by capturing millimeter-accurate body data in seconds while employees stay fully clothed, creating reusable digital size profiles. Scan once, use forever.
Their proprietary “NakedNet” AI extrapolates precise measurements through regular clothing. Full-body scans complete in less than 30 seconds with 98.12% accuracy, validated across 30,000+ scans.
The constraint? NakedNet needs exceptional depth data. In real retail environments like dark denim, heavy outerwear, complex lighting standard RGB cameras can’t map body contours beneath fabric. SIZED needed hardware delivering dense, accurate 3D point clouds that wouldn’t be misled by fabric draping.

Why Orbbec Astra 2 Powers the Engine
SIZED’s scanning solution deploys three Orbbec Astra 2 structured light cameras in a vertical array (top-middle-bottom) for full-body capture. This configuration addresses the precision, stability, and privacy requirements that “measure-to-fit” demands.
- Structured Light Precision
Astra 2 projects infrared patterns to generate dense depth maps, separating clothing wrinkles from body contours the key to determining proper fit. Powered by Orbbec’s MX6600 chip, depth accuracy stays within ≤0.16% at 1 meter and ≤0.3% at 2 meters, capturing shoulder lines, waist circumference, and posture variations. - Resolution That Feeds Machine Learning
At 1600 x 1200 depth resolution running 30fps, Astra 2 produces the continuous, granular point clouds NakedNet requires. Training AI to “see through” clothing demands high-fidelity 3D data and anything less degrades accuracy. - Privacy by Design
Infrared-based structured light avoids facial texture capture at the hardware level, meeting Europe’s stringent privacy requirements essential for public service deployments where SIZED operates under NDA. - Field Validation at Scale
SIZED is deployed in Decathlon Belgium, with initial live implementation at the Brussels Evere store. Customers complete a full-body scan in under 30 seconds, creating personalized size profiles usable both in-store and online. What once required multiple try-ons now takes one standing scan.

The results: 98% measurement accuracy, 30-second onboarding, 30,000+ scans, and up to 75% cost reduction on operational costs. Returns processing drops. Inventory pressure eases. Digital body data accumulates as a reusable asset.
“Manual sizing was never designed to operate at the scale that modern workwear programs require,” says David Francotte, Founder & CEO of Treedy’s / SIZED. “With SIZED, we’re turning body measurement into digital infrastructure: accurate, repeatable, and privacy-first. Orbbec’s depth technology gives our AI the quality of data it needs to eliminate guesswork and make fit reliable for every employee, everywhere.”
The Bigger Picture: 3D Vision Unlocking Intelligent Industries
SIZED reflects a broader pattern: AI systems that can’t function without precise depth sensing. Orbbec’s structured light cameras unlock new models in sectors previously trapped by manual measurement constraints.
Hitachi deployed Orbbec cameras for “co-uriba,” using 3D vision to identify products without barcodes. Lavavision from Poland integrated Astra cameras into MotionCube interactive floors and walls, turning physical spaces into immersive environments for education and therapy.
The common thread? Intelligent algorithms need intelligent sensors. From retail to healthcare, manufacturing to interactive media, high-precision 3D data enables AI to remove guesswork from processes traditionally dependent on manual judgement. Orbbec provides the visual engine that makes devices truly see and understand the world.
