October 29, 2026 – Orbbec, a leading provider of robotics and AI vision, recently signed a strategic procurement agreement with ACE Robotics, a leading embodied AI company, and its partners, covering 10,000 units of robotic vision products and robot-free data collection hardware. Orbbec and ACE Robotics also established a comprehensive strategic partnership. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Howard Huang, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Orbbec, and Wang Xiaogang, Chairman of ACE Robotics and Co-founder of SenseTime.
The partnership will focus on robotic vision and high-quality real-world data collection, supporting the large-scale deployment of robot-free data collection hardware. The companies also aim to align visual perception between data collection systems and robotic platforms, supporting the continuous evolution of world models.
Orbbec and ACE Robotics establish a comprehensive strategic partnership
ACE Robotics is a robotics company accelerating the intelligent leap in embodied AI. Its technology is built on spatiotemporal, multi-view ambient data collection, Kairos 3.1—China’s first open-source and commercially deployed world model—and an embodied AI brain module. Together, these technologies address key challenges in data scarcity, common-sense reasoning, generalization, and versatility. To support real-world data collection for physical AI, Orbbec has developed its Robot-Free Data Collection Hardware Platform, featuring EGO for egocentric vision capture, UMI for handheld manipulation capture, WristCam for wrist-level near-field interaction capture, and Hub for multi-device synchronization.The platform offers standardized products, private-label customization, Contract Manufacturing (CM), and Joint Design Manufacturing (JDM) services to meet diverse data collection needs.
Under the agreement, Orbbec will supply ACE Robotics with depth cameras, RGB cameras, and robot-free data collection hardware, along with software integration, customization, and scalable manufacturing and delivery services tailored to application needs.
These devices will support ACE Robotics’ robotic platforms and ambient data collection systems, enabling multi-view real-world interaction data collection for embodied AI model training and refinement. Product deliveries are already underway, with further shipments ramping up.
The two companies have previously collaborated on robotic visual perception, with Orbbec’s depth cameras supporting environmental perception in ACE Robotics projects. The new agreement extends their collaboration into embodied AI data collection.
